THE INNUITIAN MOUNTAINS
SUMMARY
The Innuitian Mountains were formed during the Mesozoic era when the North American Plate had moved northward causing mountain ranges. Today, the Innuitian Mountains cover 26% of the country (Canada) and are named after the people who live there; the Innuits. Its composed of igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rock, which are rich in minerals; metallic and non-metallic. Plus, as its located above the treeline, little vegetation grows, and what vegetation does grow decreases towards the north and grows close to the ground. In conclusion, the Innuitian Mountains experience cold, harsh weather, that limits the amount of vegetation, wildlife, and the population.
