The Interior Plains are composed of sedimentary rock and include rolling hills, plateaus, and lowlands made up of sedimentary rock. Throughout the Interior Plains there are mountains, lakes and rivers. The largest lakes in the region is known as the Great Bare Lake, the Great Slave Lake, and the Winnipeg Lake. Other water features include shallow ponds; sloughs and areas of marshy wetland.
