CANADIAN SHIELD
Physical Landscape
The Canadian Shield is made up of metamorphic and igneous rock. It had once been a major mountain region but is now relatively flat with rounded rock hills . In addition, hundreds of thousands of lakes exist as scraping and gouging of ice years back had left depression in the bedrock. The Canadian Shields lakes are often crystal clear due to the granite on the bottom. Some bodies of water include Great Slave Lake, Lake Winnipeg, Eastern Shore of Great Bare Lake and Lake Athabasca.
