INNUITIAN MOUNTAINS
Soil and Natural Vegetation
The Hudson Bay Lowlands are covered by a swampy forest. These swampy areas are typically called muskeg. In addition to the muskeg, the main vegetation are bushes, isolated trees, stunted tamarack, and black spruce ( poor vegetation). The soil it typically waterlogged and permafrost is dotted all over land. Hence, one reason why only poor vegetation exists. The Arctic Lowlands on the other hand, only consist of low growing shrubs and seeds. Plus, the land is barren (no trees grow) and is covered in permafrost all year round, meaning that the frozen soil can't absorb water and can't support most kinds of vegetation.
